May the muse be with you!

Hi everyone,
I was patting myself on the back for writing a fast draft of my previous novel in four weeks. I spent another few weeks knocking it into shape, but I thought the next novel ( the second in the duet) would be just as easy. Wrong! I lost three weeks writing myself into corners until I suddenly solved the story problem. My subconscious was telling me something wasn’t quite right and then I finally knew what it was, but only after a few miserable days and nights of panic. Isn’t that like our lives? We often know we have an issue with something or someone but are not ready to deal with it. I hate deleting words. I hate “killing my little darlings” but they had to go. Ernest Hemingway said: “The only writing is rewriting.” So true!
Best wishes,
Melanie
