Spring is just around the corner and so is the Romance Writers of Australia conference in Brisbane this week. The winner of the Romantic Book of the Year will be announced and I am super excited to be nominated twice with The Most Scandalous Ravensdale and Unwrapping His Convenient Fiancée. I loved writing those books and feel very honoured to have them both nominated. And The Most Scandalous Ravensdale has also been nominated for the Romance Writers of New Zealand Koru Award, and the winner will also be announced this month.
I will be launching my new website in the next few weeks so keep posted!
The very first Margie Lawson Immersion class in Tasmania was a wonderful success. We called ourselves the Nine Smiles Beach Immersion class as we were at Nine Mile Beach and all we did was smile.
“Nine Smiles Beach” Immersion Class March 2017
It was fantastic working and relaxing together for five days and the weather was amazing-just as it always is in Tasmania. Ha ha! We are hosting another one in November so I will be busy working on a another couple of manuscripts to have ready for Margie’s magical eyes.
Another year has begun and I am so looking forward to what’s coming up. I am super excited about hosting my very first Margie Lawson Advanced Immersion Class at my holiday home on the East Coast of Tasmania in March. I will be working hard to have a manuscript ready for her expert eye!
I hope that 2017 is promising to be a fabulous year for you. I also hope you enjoy my upcoming releases- The Temporary Mrs Marchetti is out next month and coming soon after is Wedding Night With Her Enemy and A Ring For The Greek’s Baby.
I’ve been working on a new book this month and spent some time away on the east coast of Tasmania to get some concentrated time. Long walks and long writing sessions have been very productive for me.
I hope the lead up to the festive season is not stressing you too much. The momentum is certainly building! I am in the process of making my cake and pudding.
I love Christmas and my next release is a Christmas story-my first ever. Why did that take me so long?!
I was patting myself on the back for writing a fast draft of my previous novel in four weeks. I spent another few weeks knocking it into shape, but I thought the next novel ( the second in the duet) would be just as easy. Wrong! I lost three weeks writing myself into corners until I suddenly solved the story problem. My subconscious was telling me something wasn’t quite right and then I finally knew what it was, but only after a few miserable days and nights of panic. Isn’t that like our lives? We often know we have an issue with something or someone but are not ready to deal with it. I hate deleting words. I hate “killing my little darlings” but they had to go. Ernest Hemingway said: “The only writing is rewriting.” So true!
I am thrilled to announce that The Most Scandalous Ravensdale has received an Romantic Times magazine Top Pick for April. This is the second Ravensdale book to get a Top Pick.
I am working on the second book of a Greek hero duet just now and I’m enjoying autumn in Hobart- one of my favourite times of the year.
I am so thrilled to announce I have been declared the 2105 winner of the HOLT Medallion Award for At No Man’s Command. I got the phone call while I was conducting a workshop on writing romance. I put the phone on speaker so everyone could share the moment. It was such a wonderful experience. Thank you to all the judges and the volunteers who do all the work to make the HOLT such a fabulous competition.
So thrilled to hear I’m a finalist in the 2015 Holt Medallion. A big thank you to the reader judges and all the volunteers who make this such a wonderful contest. I will be giving signed copies of the book via my author page on Facebook.
At No Man’s Command is a finalist in the 2015 Holt Medallion!
I am excited to announce that Book One of the ravishing Ravensdales is now in production. I haven’t got a title as yet but keep posted. I am now working on Book Two and hope to have the quartet completed by mid-year.
I can’t believe Easter is almost upon us. How did the last couple of months go so quickly!
I have a flat chat schedule ahead of me until I head overseas for a European river cruise. I’m looking forward to the holiday as well as the research angle of it. I am not looking forward to the amount of organisation I have to do before I head out the door! House-sitter, dog walkers, cat feeders, etc.
I’m currently working on a new Presents novel, the sister novel to my first person Medical- A Date With Her Valentine Doc. I’m really enjoying the challenge of writing first person in Presents as the hero is less knowable, just like all good alpha men!
I really enjoyed RWAustralia where I caught up with lots of friends and colleagues and met my editor for the first time. That was a highlight for me. Oh, and winning the best costume award for the Leather and Lace cocktail party! If you sign up for my newsletter you will see the photo.
